Healthy Schools Status

The National Healthy School Standard was achieved as a result of the work of the Rainham Mark Grammar School Healthy Schools Working party. The group, made up of students, staff, parents, governors and health workers, has over the last few years promoted a healthy lifestyle through healthy eating, physical activity, emotional health and well being and personal, social and health education.

Investors in People

We have achieved this national recognition in record time and are the first selective school in Medway to have the award. The award recognises the excellent resources, teaching and guidance which the school provides for pupils.

Science College Status

RMGS became a Science College in September 2004. All the Science laboratories have been refurbished and were opened in November 2004 by Professor Mark Cross from the University of Greenwich. These have been fully resourced and hence pupils now have an environment conducive to learning. All Science and mathematics rooms have been fitted with interactive whiteboards. In addition the Science department has had a wireless network installed. This is to be extended to the whole school in Autumn 2005. A large amount of maths subject specific software has been purchased to be used in lessons.
