Dear Parent/Carer
RE: SWINE FLU
The school is very concerned about the spread of the current outbreak of the H1N1 virus (swine flu). The aim will be to keep the school open although some disruptions may well occur to pupil learning. However, it is still essential that adults or children with flu-like symptoms should stay away until they are free of those symptoms. They should contact the National Pandemic Flu Service on 0800 1513513 or at www.pandemicflu.direct.gov.uk.
All pupils in Y7-Y11 (year 2008-09) have had an assembly on the effect of the swine flu pandemic. In addition to this there is hand gel available in every classroom along with the campaign posters "Catch it, Bin it, Kill it".
In order to keep you abreast of current events please use the hyperlinks below which will offer information about how swine flu is affecting schools (the teachernet link). In addition please use the Health Protection Agency (HPA) link that gives further advice on swine flu; questions such as ‘What should I do if my child has swine flu symptoms?’
