Medway SSG Sports Hall Athletics 12th January 17

RMGS celebrated their success in the Athletics event on 12th January.  Both year 8 teams will now go on to represent Medway in the Kent School games at Medway Park on Weds 8th Feb 2017, 2-5:30pm. 

Medway SSG Sports Hall Athletics success!

16 year 8 male and female students were selected to represent RMGS in the indoor sports hall athletics held at the Howard School on Thursday 12th January. This team event included the following track events; 2 lap individual race, 4 lap individual race, 6 lap individual race, 8 lap parlauf, team obstacle relay and a 4 x 2 lap relay.  The field events included; Shot, speed bounce, standing long jump, standing triple jump and vertical jump.

The year 8 girls team finished first place out of 8 teams, with 242 points.

Year 8 girls team with their winner’s medals.

The year 8 boys team finished first place out of 8 teams, with 218 points.

Both teams will now go on to represent Medway in the Kent School games at Medway Park on Weds 8th Feb 2017, 2-5:30pm.

A special thank you to all of the year 10 and 12 students who helped out with the organisation and timings of events, the event would have not run as smoothly without all of you.
