I was at the school from 1976 until 1983, my brother Rob was in the year behind me.
So many of the names are familiar that it would fill up this note simply listing them. Delighted to see that Mr. (sorry, now Dr.) Akehurst is still there - he was my first form teacher and English teacher. I also well remember Mr. Kitney, Mr. Elliott and Mrs. Pilgrim.
Some of the students I knew and whose names I couldn't find on the site include Jonathan Macready (and all the rest of the hockey team), Adrian Smith, Russell Thear, Darrel Waitt, Paul Sparham, Vivian Short, Helen Dabner, Marcus Moir, Matthew Durrel and Paul Debont. I wonder where they all are now. To those that I did find, a big hello, it was great to read your reminiscences.
Anyway, after school I went off to Southampton to do a degree in Chemistry and just escaped being talked into doing a PhD. Instead, after graduating, I travelled for a while, before settling down in London where I joined one of the big accountancy firms. That kept me busy for the next seven years and also saw me get a secondment to Australia. Some 8 years later I am still here. Accountancy proved to be far too exciting for me and I am now a director with an investment bank. I am married to Brigitte and we have a 19-month old daughter, Frederique (Freddie). Despite Brigitte being French I am just as bad as ever at languages (sorry Mr. Webster).
