PE

At Rainham Mark we have a wide range of exciting out of school activities from which offer students an opportunity to develop their hobbies and interests. We organise lunch-time and after-school clubs for sport, art, music and other subjects. Computer rooms are open to use at lunch time and after school.

Each year the school organised a very lively Charity Week during which we raise thousands of pounds for good causes. Students have an opportunity to take part in the annual Medway Festival of Speech, Drama and Music each May, as well as the Duke of Edinburg Award and the Young Enterprise scheme.

Sports and Games
Team sports are played at various levels against other schools or clubs: football, netball, cricket, badminton, athletics, tennis, table tennis and gold. Inter-form matches, gym and dance evenings and our annual Sports Day all contribute to the sporting life of the school.

Performing Arts
Music is an important part of life at RMGS and sees students participate in a wide variety of activities. Students' learning is well supported in the new Ryder Music Centre which, in addition to a classroom, features an ICT suite, four practice rooms, a recording studio and a recital hall. Extra-Curricular opportunities exist for students to perform in choir, orchestra, jazz band, guitar club, jam club, popstars, string ensemble and keyboard club. These groups perform regularly in school concerts and Music Tours to various destinations in Europe.

Past students have also been successful in local competitions, such as the Medway Young Musician's Awards, Medway Festival of Music - which is hosted at the school - and the Medway Pop concert.

Our well-equipped Drama Studio provides excellent facilities for drama workshops; larger productions take place in our spacious Hall.

School Trips
Trips are organised either as part of a subject syllabus, such as Geography field trips, or as cultural or recreational visits. Residential visits are arranged to France, Germany and Spain and we run an annual skiing trip. Local outings to theatres, museums and exhibitions are always popular.
