Allergies

Within the school community there are students and staff who have allergies to a variety of substances, eg nuts, latex.

The school has in place the following strategies to help those with allergies.

  • The consumption of food is not allowed in class rooms and general teaching areas.
  • Within the school there are Science laboratories and Food Technology facilities that are designated areas for students with allergies.
  • Epi-pen training is offered to all staff

All parents, students and staff are asked to avoid bringing latex products, eg balloons, into school.

Parents should notify Claire Else and her team of any students with severe allergies.

Mrs Julie Critcher, our school nurse, can be contacted for more information on health issues including allergies at the Rainham Healthy Living Centre, 103 -107 High Street, Rainham. Telephone number is 01634 337659.
