Food is an essential part of our lives, and this course will study food from many different standpoints.
Nutritional requirements, food production and hygiene, catering for the individual, commercial catering and food supply, marketing and image of food products.
Pupils will develop a core of knowledge and understanding of food issues in preparation for the terminal examination. They will also be instructed in the practical skills of cookery, working towards starting a major project near the end of Year 10.
